Item category Dry palm nuts or seeds
|
CHARACTERISTICS: The outside of the nut or endocarp of the A.O. Palm Nut is what is turned because the inside or endosperm inside is a soft white oily kernel(s) that is of no value for turning. The embryo or opening to the nut is at the end of the nut with the long visible fibers. FINISH: The endocarp is a very hard material and polishes to a very high and beautiful luster. I never apply any finish to the nuts, just sand and polish with a white buffing compound. SIZE: The nut is approximately 2 1/2" long x 1 1/2" wide, The wall thickness of the outside or endocarp varies between 1/4" and 3/8". ORIGIN: Central America |
